Quick answers to the most common questions about how payments work in AirQuote.
Card payments are processed by Stripe. When you send an invoice, AirQuote attaches a secure Stripe payment link. Your client clicks it, enters their card, and pays. The invoice marks itself as paid the moment Stripe confirms the transaction, no manual reconciling.
You'll need a Stripe account to use card payments. Stripe accounts are free to create and take about 5 minutes to set up. AirQuote walks you through connecting your Stripe account inside the dashboard.
Stripe's standard US rate is 2.9% + $0.30 per successful card transaction. AirQuote does not add any markup on top of that.
The fee comes out of the payment automatically: your client pays the full invoice amount and you receive the net. Stripe rates vary slightly by country and payment method (ACH and international cards have different rates), you can check current rates at stripe.com/pricing.
Yes. AirQuote has a manual payment recording flow for any payment method that doesn't go through Stripe. Tap "Record payment" on any invoice, pick the method (cash, check, bank transfer, or other), enter the amount and date.
The invoice updates and the payment ties back to the job's profit margin like any other payment. You can also record partial payments, which is useful for deposits and progress payments.
Stripe handles payouts directly to your bank account on a rolling schedule. New Stripe accounts typically have a 7-day rolling payout, established accounts can be 2-day.
AirQuote doesn't hold or delay your funds. The money goes from your client's card straight into your Stripe account, and Stripe pays out to your bank on its schedule. You can change your payout schedule in your Stripe dashboard.
Most contractor jobs collect deposits, progress payments, and final balances. AirQuote tracks each payment separately on the job, with a running "paid of total" count.
The job's status pill shows Unpaid, Partial, or Paid based on how much has been collected. Live profit margin updates with every payment recorded, so you can see exactly where each job stands.
Refunds for Stripe payments are handled through your Stripe dashboard. AirQuote will reflect the refund on the invoice and adjust the job's payment total automatically.
Chargebacks (when a client disputes a charge with their bank) follow Stripe's standard dispute process. AirQuote can't override Stripe's chargeback decisions, but you'll see the dispute status in your Stripe dashboard so you know what's happening.
